Chief Technology/Product Officer, Digital

Our client is a healthcare consumer company on a mission to transform healthcare and the patient experience. They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Chief Technology/Product Officer, Digital.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Oversees design and implementation of patient/consumer interface apps.
  • Develops and maintains the technology and digital roadmap for the company.
  • Develops strategic plans and sets timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all technical, web, and mobile services.
  • Leads technological development.
  • Evaluates and implements systems and infrastructure that yield competitive advantage.
  • Collaborates with department heads as advisor of all technologies.
  • Ensures technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely throughout the company and its customers.
  • Develops and implements disaster and emergency recovery plans.
  • Defines company standards for systems, equipment, and software.
  • Ensures technology standards and best practices are met.
  • Ensures technological processes and service comply with all requirements, laws, and regulations.
  • Share technological visions, opportunities, and risks company-wide.
  • Communicates technology strategy to partners and investors.
  • Tracks, analyzes and monitors technology performance metrics.
  • Monitors web analytics and makes recommendations that align to business goals.
  • Supervises system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Supervises quality assurance processes, integration and system tests.
  • Studies information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Establishes software development process and sets objectives for process.
  • Represents the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions.
  • Identifies company web user needs.
  • Studies current and new industry trends, technology landscape, and software development.
  • Represents the company at conferences and networking events.
  • Builds quality assurance and data protection processes.
  • Monitors KPIs and budgets to assess technological performance.
  • Identifies new areas of digital marketing opportunities and collaborates with the marketing head to develop the strategy and implement them.
  • Takes initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity.
  • Spearheads IT projects to increase market reach and improve USP.
  • Manages technical vendors. 

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field is required; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • Must have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in a software development role, information technology role, or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a management or leadership role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proven experience as a CTO/CPO or similar leadership role highly preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of technological trends to build strategy.
  • Must have a solid understanding of budgets and business-planning.
  • Requires the ability to conduct technological analyses and research.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, is required.
  • Must have exceptional project management, strategic thinking and organizational abilities.
  • Requires an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently is required.
  • Must be able to build strong interpersonal relationships with peers, brand leaders, and other senior management throughout the company.
  • Requires excellent leadership, team building, and management skills.
  • The ability to align multiple strategies and ideas is required.
  • Must have experience with technology relative to industry, such as .Net, C#, SQL Server, MongoDB, Solr, jQuery, Angular, AWS, IIS, GitHub, Grunt/Gulp, Node.JS, and Java/C.
  • Requires proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Familiarity with marketing platforms, programs and policies is required.
