Director, Key Accounts

Our client is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Director, Key Accounts.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensures access, reimbursement and proper utilization of marketed products.
  • Builds relationships and formulates strategies at the most important large accounts.
  • Develops relationships with key customers in priority accounts and Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Leverages relationships with clinical experts to apply at account.
  • Develops and executes business plans and strategies for each target account.
  • Develops and executes strategic and tactical account planning.
  • Gains formulary and protocol access for products in accounts and all subsequent products.
  • Develops and implements cross-functional business plans and business development strategies for targeted high-volume accounts.
  • Delivers on business objectives and other key metrics for assigned accounts.
  • Assists in business planning by bringing customer insights back to the organization.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with the sales and sales leadership teams that share responsibility for these accounts.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, specialty or healthcare industry.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience managing large accounts in the health care industry.
  • Requires experience developing and executing business plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Must have advanced business skills in negotiation, strategy, presentation, analytics and teamwork.
  • Experience with urology highly preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to communicate cross functionally to align efforts against key accounts
  • Must be able and willing to travel 50% of the time, with overnight stays required
  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
