National Account Manager

Our client is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. They have asked us to assist them in their search for a National Account Manager.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Performs and communicates analysis of the payer landscape in various markets across the US.
  • Creates and updates coverage status reports for executive management.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with identified key payers.
  • Attends payer, medical society, or other related meetings to network with payers.
  • Presents the value proposition and health economic model to payers.
  • Collaborates with reimbursement support line consultants to address the challenges with reimbursement as reported by users.
  • Provides expert guidance to Field Reimbursement Specialists.
  • Collaborates with other functional areas to develop educational materials, and provides expert tactical guidance when needed.
  • Other projects as determined through discussion and planning.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience working in reimbursement, managed care sales/marketing or related.
  • Required a solid understanding of, and access to, national payers, regional payers, and medical directors.
  • The ability to work directly with hospitals and/or imaging centers on payer specific issues is required.
  • Requires knowledge of medical benefit plan design.
  • Must have the ability to lead and coordinate local market access on reimbursement issues.
  • Highly developed time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities with a high degree of initiative required.
  • Must have excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills with ability to interact with all levels of management for both internal and external customer base.
  • Requires the ability to work effectively and independently from a home office, as well as, the ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed.
