Executive Vice President

Our client is a biopharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for an Executive Vice President

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Spearheads efforts to seek and initiate new business opportunities.
  • Assumes responsibilities in the areas of financial management and stockholder relations.
  • Provides oversight to insure that research programs are well designed and properly conducted.
  • Provides guidance in the development of new indications.
  • Identifies and assess opportunities, formulates strategies and negotiates terms and contracts.
  • Acquires a thorough understanding of the Company’s business model including financial and operational status and philosophy. This individual should have expertise presenting this information to stockholders and Board of Directors.
  • Shares responsibilities related to financial matters including transfer of funds and checking.
  • Provides strategic input on financial strategy for the business, including exit strategy.
  • Provides operational management of finance function.
  • Works with the Company's strategic partners in a productive and collaborative manner.
  • Oversees research programs which involves input on potential market size, costs of development and design of studies.
  • Attends and prepares presentations for Board of Directors meetings.
  • Elevates Company to industry and investment community profile.
  • Brings a relevant industry ‘Rolodex’.
  • Reviews and provides input regarding materials to be submitted to SEC including, 10K, 10Q and 8K's.
  • Reviews and provides input related to press releases, website updates, and other Investor relations and public relations matters.
  • Interacts with investors and participates in quarterly earnings calls.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Must have an advanced degree; MD, Ph.D. or MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in Biotechnology or pharmaceutical, including experience in an executive position.
  • Considerable experience in either clinical or business development of biologics or drugs is required.
  • Must have an ability to understand and convey the science and/or the technology.
  • Requires demonstrated business acumen.
  • Must have strong strategic planning and organizational skills paired with the ability to envision, communicate and implement long-term big picture approach.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work in an 'entrepreneurial' environment.
  • Must have a demonstrated business track record and business/financial operational experience in relevant functions.
  • Requires excellent business judgment and track record.
  • Requires a sense of urgency and high personal energy.
  • Must have the ability to listen to a wide variety of opinions.
  • Must have proven ability to interact productively with regulatory authorities.
  • Requires the ability to develop and grow a productive network of external contacts and maintain excellent working relationships internally as well as with industry counterparts.
  • Requires the ablity to interface with current management team and Board of Directors.
  • Must have a sound analytical competence and business acumen to make quality judgments regarding feasibility and value of collaborative opportunities.
  • Requires outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong sense of business ethics.
