Medical Science Liaison

Our client is a global pharmaceutical company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Medical Science Liaison, Neurology

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Working with key professionals at the national, regional, and local level, educating key healthcare professionals with current, fair-balanced medical, scientific and pharmacoeconomic information regarding the Company’s products and therapeutic areas.
  • Increasing the awareness of the Company and its marketed products allowing the key healthcare professionals to make informed therapeutic decisions.
  • Working with investigators to facilitate the process for clinical trials.
  • Expediting the development and collection of quality data for the Company pipeline compounds and marketed products.
  • Developing working relationships with healthcare professionals who are influencers and opinion leaders within their area of expertise. 
  • Acting as an advocacy to influencers as it relates to the company and its marketed products and compounds in development.
  • Assisting in the preparation and execution of regional and/or national advisory board meetings for the Company’s marketed and pipeline products, including making presentations, assisting with slide preparation/review and facilitating interactive discussion groups.
  • Providing resources for presenting medical information allowing the company to gain feedback from decision makers about the utility of our products and how they compare in the marketplace.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • An advanced terminal degree (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD, DPH, and EdD) in medical/biosciences is required.
  • Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of MSL experience in Neurology.
  • Must have 5 or more years of pharma/industry related experience.
  • Must have disease state management knowledge in Neurology.
  • Requires a strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge as well as excellent presentation and teaching skills.
  • Must have knowledge and experience within the Neurology therapeutic area and be comfortable and confident speaking about drug information and disease state management.
  • Requires an understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment and appreciation for Commercial Operations, including Marketing and Sales strategies.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the role and contributions provided by Medical Science Liaisons & Medical and Scientific Affairs.
  • Must have the ability to lead and motivate team members without a direct reporting relationship.
  • Requires established relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to assess issues and think strategically.
  • Clinical research/drug development experience and clinical pharmacy experience is preferred.
