Senior Research Scientist, Immunology

Our client is a clinical-stage biotechnology company.  They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Senior Research Scientist, Immunology.

Our client’s Research and Development department is looking for an experienced, skilled, and motivated immunologist to serve as their lead research immunologist.  This candidate will conduct in-house laboratory research as well as collaborate with high profile external investigators on multiple collaborative projects.  He/she would also support correlative and translational research in support of the clinical development of the company’s Listeria-based immunotherapies.  This position requires strong presentation and communication skills and a state of the art knowledge of immunology as it relates to the immunotherapy of cancer.  The individual will be expected to work independently, enthusiastically, and creatively, as well as establish, foster, and manage external collaborations with prominent investigators.  This position will report directly to the CSO.

Major tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Designs studies and executes research aimed at development and improvement of the Listeria-based immunotherapeutic platforms to multiple cancers and infectious diseases.
  • Participates in the development and testing of new for the therapeutic treatment of cancer on Listeria platforms.
  • Provides skilled technical support to correlative and translational research associated with clinical development.
  • Maintains proper research records and publish research in peer reviewed journals.
  • Leads and executes the immunological studies essential for the preclinical and clinical development of Listeria-based immunotherapies.
  • Supports R and D team with external scientific collaborations.
  • Represents the company and its technology and seeks out opportunities to present data in scientific and business meetings.
  • Works with the team to develop and support the generation and maintenance of intellectual property.
  • Contributes in writing preclinical and clinical pharmacology sections of regulatory documents, animal protocols, and SOPs.
  • Seeks additional support for research grants in support of research activities.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A strong background and Ph.D. degree in immunology is desired.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience and prior pharmaceutical industry and/or biotechnology experience.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • A track record of hypothesis-driven experimentation.
  • Primary authored publications in high impact journals.
  • A publication history in a relevant research area is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
