Lead Early Commercial Strategy - Immuno Oncology

Our client is a global pharmaceutical company. They have asked us to assist them in their search for a Lead Early Commercial Strategy – Immuno Oncology.
Major tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Provides insights to global project teams and early project teams on external environment, including competitive landscape, payer/reimbursement requirements, unmet medical needs, and evolving treatment patterns.
- Understands the drug development process and maintains sufficient R&D fluency to identify commercial implications of early development decisions.
- Gathers relevant medical expert insights by arranging advisory boards.
- Develops commercial forecasts; works with other new products colleagues to coordinate and collaborate on development of pipeline assets for patients with same tumor types.
- Drives commercial considerations of biomarker identification and companion diagnostic development.
- Establishes key messages for pipeline assets; collaborates with Scientific Communications colleagues to support publication planning.
- Provides commercial feedback to impact formulation and packaging development decisions.
- Develops educational tools for external audiences (e.g., compound cards, MOA summaries) and internal constituencies.
- Champions generic name development and supports clinical trial naming/branding activities.
- Develops initiatives to support clinical trial enrollment.
- Serves as lead within early commercial strategy for business development & licensing projects.
- Coordinates business development & licensing related workload with other early commercial strategy colleagues.
- Works closely with business development & licensing colleagues and associated team members to develop and refine commercial assessments commensurate with the level of data available.
- Assess the relevant therapeutic space, standard of care, competitive environment, and evolving treatment paradigm for the external asset.
- Determines current payer environment and proposes likely pricing strategy.
- Consults secondary market research and data sources and conducts primary research, as necessary.
- Conducts due diligence evaluations.
- Prepares and presents the Company’s commercial capabilities to potential partners.
- Identifies synergies with in-house pipeline.
- Engages with teams on option deals to update commercial evaluation when new data is available through triggered option.
- Advises on optimal commercial deal structure; reviews collaboration contracts.
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
- Must have 5 – 8 years of pharmaceutical marketing experience, oncology preferred; with at least 2 years of experience with in-line brand responsibilities.
- An advanced scientific degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD) is preferred.
- An MBA is preferred.
- Requires compound evaluation experience with new products or major line extensions.
- Must have experience managing complex projects and diverse project teams to achieve goals on time.
- Requires superior analytical and quantitative skills, and strong communications skills, written, verbal and presentation.
- Must have understanding of the drug development process, especially regarding opportunities for differentiation and value demonstration.
- Must have a proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
- Experience in more than one of the following roles in addition to marketing: strategic planning, business development, diagnostics, or sales is preferred.
- Must have experience working in a global environment.
